I had a Maruti 800 Dx car from August 2000 to 2011. It was a second hand car for me. It was one year old when I bought it. (1999 Model) . It had run 5000 kms at the time of my buying.
In 2011 the odo reading was 75000 kms ; The car was doing an average weekly run of about 80-100 kms; From 2010 onwards it had been to the garage off and on ; some repair or the other keeps cropping up; I had changed the alternator, compressor of the AC, etc. In spite of visits to the mechanic it had some minor problems during a cold start; one reason for the recurring problems is that your trusted mechanic of the garage that you have been giving your car for the last ten years has now grown in stature and has appointed two or three junior mechanics under him ; All of them are not well trained ; though you may assume that they work under the supervision of the elder guy this may not happen; so your aged car gets into younger hands who are still trainee mechanics. Therefore I decided to look for a new car.(inspite of changing all my tyres to Tubeless Michelin tyres spending approx. Rs. 9000/-)
