Trip to Bhimashankar temple near Pune

Started off from Mumbai at 7.00 A M on 30-12-2011 in my Maruti Sx4

Reading on ODO while starting from Anushakthinagar , Near Chembur, Mumbai-1937 Km

ODO Reading at  First Toll Plaza on Mumbai-Pune Expressway - (Food Court) -- 2004 Kms

To go to Bhimashanker exit Mumbai-Pune expressway after the second toll plaza- Somatane-Pimpri-Chichwad

After the exit, after drive of 1 -2 kms naaka (Intersection) comes; Here take a sharp turn (U??_-reverse direction) Dehu Road

After 2 km turn towards Talegaon

Chakan entered -ODO reading 2076 kms

After Chakan turn left to enter Pune -Nashik Road

CNG got over at ODO reading 2144 km

Ran out of CNG at ODO  2144-1937 kms = 207 kms Approx -20 km per kg of Gas -


Bhimashnaker reached - ODO reading - 2180 kms


Reached Bhimashanker at 2:00 P M - Approx 6 hrs travel time; Beyond Talegaon I couldnt move more than 40-50 km per hour.

A small village with a few shops.. Almost NIL facilities for visitors, one must say. A few meters from the car parking area you have to climb down these steps to reach the temple.

This is the temple. Black stone. Architecturally similar to Nashik temple

Started back from Bhimashanker at 4:00 pm; Ghodegaon at 44km from Bhimashanker;
